Community guidelines

These are the standards we expect from everyone who takes part in SwabiConnect.

Last updated October 2026

Our community is built on respect for local people, honest conversation, and a shared responsibility to keep the space useful. These guidelines apply to posts, comments, profiles, messages, and media.

Be respectful

  • Disagree with ideas without attacking the person behind them.
  • No harassment, threats, stalking, or targeted pile-ons.
  • No hateful language about ethnicity, religion, gender, disability, or other identities.
  • Respect people's privacy. Do not share private information without consent.

Keep it real

  • Do not impersonate other people, organisations, or officials.
  • Do not spread content you know is false or manipulated to cause harm.
  • Label sponsored or promotional content clearly.
  • Give credit when you share someone else's work.

Keep it safe

  • No graphic violence, sexual content involving minors, or non-consensual intimate content.
  • No content that encourages self-harm or dangerous challenges.
  • No scams, phishing, malware, or attempts to steal accounts.
  • No illegal activity or instructions for causing harm.

Publishing standards

Approved publishers are expected to post accurate, useful content and to engage with comments in good faith. Repeatedly posting low-quality or misleading material can lead to publishing access being reviewed or revoked.

Reporting and enforcement

Use the report action on a post, comment, or profile when something breaks these guidelines. Moderators may hide content, remove it, restrict an account, or ask for more information. We aim to apply the rules consistently, but context matters and every report is reviewed individually.

Appeals

If you believe a moderation decision was made in error, contact the team with the relevant link and a short explanation. Do not create new accounts to get around a restriction.

When in doubt

Ask yourself whether you would be comfortable saying it to the person face to face in a public community space. If not, reconsider posting it.
